About Koehler Plumbing
One name on the truck, since 1996.
Veteran-owned, residential-only plumbing in Powell, Ohio. Licensed OH #23683, working on Delaware County houses since 1996 - and you deal with Keith, not a call center.

Our story
A plumbing company the size of the person responsible for it.
Koehler Plumbing has been working on houses in Powell since 1996. It started the way most trade businesses around here started - one licensed plumber, a truck, and a phone number handed between neighbors - and it has stayed deliberately close to that shape. Keith is a veteran, the business has been veteran-owned from the first day, and the name on the invoice belongs to the person who is accountable for the work.
Working the same county since 1996 buys a specific kind of knowledge. We know which subdivisions went up in which decade and what was plumbed into them: the copper that went into the 1990s builds off Sawmill and Home Road, the galvanized still hiding in older Worthington and Delaware houses, the polybutylene that turned up in central Ohio between the late seventies and the mid nineties. We know what the water in this part of Ohio does to a water heater, a faucet cartridge and a tankless heat exchanger, because we have been pulling them apart here since before most of the franchises had a local phone number.
We work on homes only - single-family houses, townhomes and condos. No commercial buildings, no furnaces, no electrical panels. Seven of the companies you will find above us in a search sell three trades at once; we sell one, and that is the whole point. If a job genuinely belongs to somebody else, we will tell you who to call rather than learn on your house.
Pricing is the other thing people ask about. You get a number before anything is opened, ordered or removed, and it does not move without a conversation first. No hourly meter running while you wonder what it is costing, no discovery of a second problem halfway through that happens to double the invoice.
The license is OH License #23683, and you should check it - ours or anyone else's. Ohio publishes a public lookup at elicense.ohio.gov, and any plumber who hesitates to give you a number to type into it is telling you something.

What sets us apart
Six differences you can check before you hire us
Every plumber in central Ohio says they are local and honest. These are the versions of that claim you can actually verify.
Owner-operated, not a franchise
There is no dispatch pool and no rotating cast of technicians. The person who prices your job is the person who shows up to do it, which is the only real guarantee in this trade - he has to stand behind it on the next street over.
- You deal with Keith, not a call center
- The same phone number since 1996
- No commissioned salesperson between you and the plumber
Residential only, on purpose
Houses are a different craft from office buildings and restaurants. Staying in one lane means we know the fixtures, the fittings and the failure patterns of the housing stock in Delaware and northern Franklin counties rather than a bit of everything.
- Single-family homes, townhomes and condos
- Familiar with local build eras and pipe materials
- An honest referral when a job is not ours
Plumbing only, so there is nothing to upsell
We do not sell furnaces, air conditioners, electrical panels or memberships. Nobody arrives with a second department to introduce, which removes the most common reason a service visit turns into a sales call.
- One trade, done properly
- No membership plan to join
- No HVAC quote at the end of a plumbing visit
Veteran-owned
In practice it means the unglamorous parts are non-negotiable: showing up in the window we gave you, calling if that window moves, doing the job to code rather than to the clock, and leaving the house the way we found it.
- Veteran-owned since 1996
- Arrival windows we actually keep
- Shoe covers, drop cloths and cleanup as standard
Licensed, insured and permitted
OH License #23683, full liability insurance, and permits pulled where Delaware County, Franklin County or your municipality requires them. Permitted work gets inspected, which is your protection rather than ours.
- Ohio license #23683, verifiable with the state
- Liability insurance carried and current
- Permits pulled and inspections scheduled
A price before the work, and one promise about time
We'll call you back within 15 minutes. That is the only response promise we make, and it is a callback promise - arrival depends on what else is on the board, and we will give you a real window instead of an optimistic one.
- Free estimates on non-emergency work
- Trip charge on diagnostics, credited toward the repair
- No membership to join and no dispatch fee
How we work
What working with us actually looks like
Four steps, no surprises, the same on a Tuesday afternoon as at midnight.
The call
A person picks up, including nights and weekends. We ask what is happening, how long it has been happening and whether water is on the floor - enough to tell you honestly whether this is a today problem or a Thursday problem.
The visit
One plumber, at your house, looking at the system rather than only the symptom. A running toilet and a failing pressure regulator can present the same way, and finding that out before quoting is what keeps you from paying twice.
The number
You get the price before anything is opened, with options where real options exist. If we find something underneath that changes the job, work stops and we talk about it first.
The follow-through
Permits pulled and inspections scheduled where they are required, connections tested, the work area cleaned up, and a direct number to call if anything is not right afterwards.

“Keith has done several jobs for us on multiple occasions. He has been available in the evenings as well as on Saturday mornings when it was an emergency. On one occasion, after finishing the job at our house, he willingly walked over to my neighbor's house to help her with her toilet that had broken and was able to fix it right on the spot. He is beyond generous and always informative about the problem at hand. He will tell you what you SHOULD spend our money on and what isn't necessary. I love this about him! I continue to recommend him to everyone I know.”
